The perceived wisdom that it is safer to buy from an established storage vendor (see Note 1) is no longer applicable. Smaller storage vendors (see Note 2) have the "attacker's advantage," based on "clean sheet" designs, new business models, and products that are simpler to purchase, support, upgrade and operate.
