Digital commerce is enabling businesses to rethink what they sell, how they sell, and where they sell. Fickle consumer and business buyers have come to expect an intuitive and instantaneous checkout process with multiple payment options. However, aging financial infrastructure and complex interdependencies between numerous parties make it difficult and expensive to accept payments online seamlessly and across markets and currencies. Stripe meets these challenges with an API-based payments platform that abstracts away the complexities around payment gateways, acquiring banks, and credit card networks. To understand the impact of Stripe’s products on processing online payments, IDC interviewed Stripe customers and surveyed hundreds of organizations around the world about how they currently process and manage online payments. KEY FINDINGS • Many organizations are using Stripe as a foundational platform for their online businesses, with many of those also using Stripe Connect to run thei

To successfully meet customer demands for more immediate, personalized attention, companies are leveraging new technologies that go beyond traditional voice and email. By implementing such channels as live chat, social media, mobile apps, SMS/text messages, self-help solutions, and more, companies can now be ready wherever and however the customer wants. The following report, sponsored by Zendesk, is based on an online survey of 1,044 U.S. consumers who have received online or phone customer service. The research goal was to better understand present customer expectations and to quantify the impact of customer service on business results. Questions were asked about past experiences with customer service, as well as preferences and opinions. Certain questions were repeated from a similar 2013 survey to enable trend analysis.

For decades, the financial services industry has endured constant change and uncertainty, from the depths of a financial crisis to widespread regulation overhauls. With the advent of more advanced cybersecurity threats, the industry has responded with rapid digital transformation to remain competitive while also pushing the envelope. Today, managing and mitigating cyber-related risks not only draws government scrutiny, but increased consumer scrutiny as well, with longstanding brand reputations anchored to institutions’ ability to protect its most sensitive data. In a recent survey of Americans, financial information was considered by consumers to be their most valuable personal information, worth even more than personal or family photos and videos. For consumers, failing to protect their data is a grave violation of trust, to the point where 72% would consider leaving their current financial institution if their sensitive information was taken hostage by ransomware.1 Not only does the

Online reputation is the new competitive frontier for marketers Healthcare brands are no longer controlled by marketers. Patient feedback about doctors and facilities online is leading to total market transparency for healthcare consumers. CG-CAHPS surveys only go so far in providing social proof. 3. Healthcare branding is becoming hyper-local In the search for providers, all branding is local – at the level of individual practitioners and facilities. Proliferating points of presence on the web make this a challenge that requires technology. But healthcare marketers who scale online review volume and quality will be rewarded with higher search visibility. 4. Business implications Online ratings and reviews stand between everyth

Consumers equipped with smartphones expect fast, convenient and uniquely relevant shopping experiences in store and online. As a result, one-third of shoppers are not satisfied with the in-store experience, turned off by everything from chronic out-of-stocks to cookie-cutter products and marketing messages that speak to the masses, as opposed to them as individuals. In turn, retailers are empowering front-line associates with tools designed to add newfound conveniences, such as locating inventory without having to leave a shopper’s side, to texting them curated product offers based on in-store and online buying patterns and preferences These are just a few of the insights found in Zebra’s 10th annual shopper study, which surveyed nearly 7,500 consumers from North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East to gain a deeper understanding of shopper satisfaction and retail technology trends that are reshaping brick-and-mortar and online stores.

Exceptional customer service is a competitive differentiator. Providing consistent service that is tailored to the individual across a variety of digital channels can help organizations deliver personalized experiences that exceed the expectations of today’s digital savvy consumers. Yet, many organizations fail to deliver real-time relevance in their service experiences because critical customer data is siloed in different systems (CRM, ticketing, etc.) across the enterprise, making it difficult to understand the full customer journey and their needs at that point in time. We partnered with IDG Research to survey top-performing customer service organizations to determine the challenges they face, and, more importantly, their plans for driving better outcomes. One thing is clear: taking a strategic approach to future investments can help organizations meet their customer service objectives and deliver on customer expectations.

We are living in the most revolutionary era in human communication since the invention of the printing press. For the past few years, marketers have ‘woken up’ to consumers who have the power to express their views anytime and anywhere. ‘Social’ is hot, and if nothing else, a response to this awakening. Now, the lines between paid, owned and earned media have been blurred, if not erased. Social media crosses the barrier between the three. It’s fast-paced and chaotic. We partnered with the research firm Sentient Services and surveyed more than 200 consumers about their attitudes, opinions and beliefs about brands and social media integration. The respondents come from all over the country, with all different incomes, lifestyles, and social media habits. Universally, the data supports what we’ve already seen in action: consumers want to engage with brands that integrate social media, and they prefer to do business with social brands. Let's get started!
