Why would an organization race to develop skills by investing the same portion of their budget in classroom approaches and build training that they could buy? To help organizations find a smarter way out of the talent crisis, the Director of Research at the world’s leading learning analytics firm compared the results of Skillsoft elearning to classroom and internally developed elearning benchmarks. Download this white paper to gain insight from the research firm IDC which predicts that some 1.2 billion workers will be using mobile enterprise tools by 2011, representing roughly a third of the total global workforce (February 2010). Some of these people are almost exclusively mobile, whereas some will only occasionally use mobile enterprise tools. As businesses grow more optimistic about opportunities for growth, the pressure is on for sales organizations to meet ever higher revenue targets. In a global survey on sales performance optimization by CSO Insights, 94 percent of respondents said their 2014 revenue targets were higher than last year’s. It’s no wonder that “capture new accounts,” cited by 60 percent of respondents, topped the list of objectives for 2014 in the study.
At the same time, many sales reps are struggling to meet even their current quotas. And in an Aberdeen Group survey, nearly half identified insufficient revenue growth as the top pressure motivating them to pursue sales management initiatives ranging from building out the capabilities of sales teams to improving management practices and investing in technology tools.

As the volume of data coming into organizations – from both internal and external sources – continues to grow and makes its way across departmental systems in many different formats, there is a critical need to create a single, holistic view of the key data entities in common use across the enterprise. Master Data Management (MDM) aims to accomplish this goal. Not surprisingly, MDM has become a significant priority for global enterprises, with the market expected to triple from $9.4B to $26.8B by 2020 according to analysts.
The reality, though, is that while seemingly everyone is investing heavily in the tools to manage data, few are putting a great enough emphasis on the data itself. And that’s a problem. Poor data quality is said to be costing businesses $3.1 trillion annually – and that’s just in the US alone. The information being put into MDM tools must be mastered first and foremost.
