The ripple effect of healthcare reform is beginning to impact care delivery strategies as care management now falls increasingly to providers.
According to a recent HealthLeaders Intelligence survey, hospital leaders are making progress with care management efforts, but more robust tools will be needed if hospitals want to scale up. The October 2014 survey polled 134 senior, clinical, operations, finance, marketing, and information leaders across the healthcare spectrum. The majority of respondents were from nonprofit organizations (63%), while the remainder (37%) came from for-profit settings.

A recent HealthLeaders Media Intelligence survey asked respondents to rank their top challenges impacting financial performance and to identify specific areas of concern within each of those issues. Their top three issues were system implementation and interoperability, recruiting and retaining talent, and reengineering the revenue cycle. On the surface, it’s tempting to think these findings aren’t surprising. Yet emerging external factors, including the cumulative effects of the HITECH Act (meaningful use), the Affordable Care Act, and an aging U.S. population, are creating new frameworks in which to view and solve these traditional problems.
Driving financial performance in the outpatient setting is a top-of-mind priority among senior health system leaders. But managing the differing clinical documentation methodologies and risk assessment strategies present the greatest challenges to optimizing this important source of revenue, according to a recent HealthLeaders Intelligence survey. Provider organizations are finding the ambulatory setting is still a ‘Wild, Wild West’ in terms of assessing risk, clinical documentation, coding billing and medical record keeping practices. Download this report to discover key targets to improve ambulatory revenue.

Many financial institutions see their customer data as one of their most valuable assets. Unlocking insights from that data helps FIs understand, anticipate and offer account holders the products and services they truly need. A major trend to unlocking customer insights is using machine learning to surface the behavioral intelligence buried in the large amount of account holder transactional data captured each and every day. In this paper, learn how a group of talented, enthusiastic analysts with an open approach to data can yield some very interesting and extremely valuable and actionable results. This approach, championed by Q2 Executive Vice President and CTO Adam Anderson, has led to a new platform, Q2 SMART, which provides powerful behavioral analytics for financial institutions, enabling growth while providing account holders with real value.

Baseball has always collected in-game data.
However, until recently, fans didn’t have easy
access to the various statistics that coaches
used for key decisions important for the
development of the players and success on
the baseball field.
It’s not unlike how traditional business
intelligence is delivered. Data and reports are
set aside for a few experts who determine
what is important for you.
Today, baseball statistics are widely available
during broadcasts on TV, PCs and mobile
devices. Basic data displays like inning and
score are enhanced with metrics meaningful
to students of the game, such as pitch speed,
strikeout percentages and hit zones. It’s a good
example of vital information being delivered in
real-time, on demand and in context.
With the advent of big data, organizations worldwide are
attempting to use data and analytics to solve problems previously
out of their reach. Many are applying big data and analytics
to create competitive advantage within their markets, often

High-priority big data and analytics projects often target
customer-centric outcomes such as improving customer loyalty
or improving up-selling. In fact, an IBM Institute for Business
Value study found that nearly half of all organizations with active
big data pilots or implementations identified customer-centric
outcomes as a top objective (see Figure 1).1 However, big data
and analytics can also help companies understand how changes
to products or services will impact customers, as well as address
aspects of security and intelligence, risk and financial management,
and operational optimization.
An interactive white paper describing how to get smart about insider threat prevention - including how to guard against privileged user breaches, stop data breaches before they take hold, and take advantage of global threat intelligence and third-party collaboration.
Security breaches are all over the news, and it can be easy to think that all the enemies are outside your organization. But the harsh reality is that more than half of all attacks are caused by either malicious insiders or inadvertent actors.1 In other words, the attacks are instigated by people you’d be likely to trust. And the threats can result in significant financial or reputational losses.
Securing your infrastructure, your customer interactions and protecting
your data are critical to preserving your reputation and your bottom
line. Many cyber attacks remain undetected for up to eight months1
and can cost an organization an average of 11 million USD.2
Today’s cyber actors are becoming more sophisticated, agile and capable
of getting past any network security. Organizations must evolve, replacing
traditional defensive security strategies with a proactive, intelligence-driven
offense to prevent and disrupt these threats.
IBM® i2® Enterprise Insight Analysis is a next generation intelligence
solution that enables organizations to incorporate cyber threat hunting
into their security strategy and turn their defense into a proactive
offense. It helps organizations uncover critical insights about their
threats and threat actors so they can mitigate and counter more threats
with a combination of multi-dimensional visualte analysis capabilities
A significant challenge for many organizations has been enabling their analysts to find the "unknown
unknown." Whether that unknown is malware lurking within the enterprise or within slight variations in
fraudulent transactions, the result has been the same: enterprises continue to fall victim to cybercrime.
IBM is addressing this challenge with IBM i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis. By pairing multi-dimensional
visual analysis capabilities with powerful analytics tools, IBM is giving the analyst team an effective
early-detection, cyberintelligence weapon for its arsenal.
