For midsize firms around the world with 100 to 999 employees, advanced technology plays an increasingly important role in business success. Companies have been adding cloud resources to supplement on-premise server, storage, and networking capabilities. At the same time, growth of mobile and remote workers is also changing how companies need to support workers to allow them to be as productive as possible. Like larger companies, midsize firms must make sure that they are effectively coordinating on-premise, public cloud, and private cloud capabilities. Unlike large companies, though, midsize firms are limited in both financial and technical resources to design and coordinate effective solutions to meet specific needs. Rather than invest in a major overhaul of their IT environments, midsize firms have to move incrementally, supplementing current resources with new cloud and on-premise capabilities that provide the performance needed to prosper in an increasingly competitive environment.

"Visibility into the live mix of network and application activity being hosted and delivered by the IT infrastructure has always is a 'must-have' for many aspects of IT planning and operations. But the greatest value and impact is achieved when those two viewpoints are blended together into one unified view.
This paper reviews the primary challenges that IT teams face in establishing unified visibility, the key requirements that management solutions must meet to address those challenges, and examines a Riverbed solution that has been specifically designed to offer a path to success."

Most security effectiveness tests take a sample of known malicious content, and see how many threats each solution can catch. Unfortunately, stopping known threats — those with a known signature, reputation or destination — isn't enough to protect real-world networks.
So we designed a new test, along with leading independent test laboratory Miercom*, that simulates a typical day on a network like yours. We put a large sample of web traffic of unknown nature through our TRITON-powered Websense® Web Security Gateway solution, along with competing web gateways and firewalls. Each solution had a fair and equal chance to analyze, classify and block threats as it would on your network.
The HP Flex-Bundles for SMB with SQL Server 2014 were created to include everything that a business needs to easily build a new environment or upgrade an existing one. The following sections cover the server, storage, networking and services building blocks that make up these pre-defined configurations.
HP Flex-Bundles are built on the HP ProLiant servers that include some of the latest and most powerful Intel processors. In designing the latest generation of the HP ProLiant server families, HP wanted to not only draw on 24 years of server experience, but also gain from the depth of knowledge and insight from customers.
This document consolidates the enterprise campus network design and deployment guidelines with various best practices from multiple deeply focused Cisco Validated Design Guides. The best practices conclusions are derived from thorough solution-level end-to-end characterization of various levels of system types, network design
alternatives, and enterprise applications.

For any sized organization, securing data and networks today is a daunting task. New vulnerabilities are discovered almost daily; new malware strains are developed as soon as a detection script is written for the old ones; and cybercriminals can buy prepackaged exploit kits on the Darknet backed by professional support teams. As a security analyst, you need more than a few point solutions designed to defend the network’s edge. You need visibility, perspective and an innate sense of when things just don’t seem right.
For a network that better supports your cloud and brings the most value possible to your business, its design has to be considered in the early stages of cloud planning. Read the white paper "Networking for cloud computing" to discover specific networking considerations for public, private and hybrid clouds.

The Tenth Annual State of the Network Global Study focuses on a lens on the network team's role in security investigations. When it comes to technology adoption, both cloud and 100 GbE deployment continue to grow aggressively. VoIP adoption is closing in on 60% and software-defined networking is projected to cross the halfway mark, indicating compounding network complexity amidst the ongoing struggle to ID security threats.
Study questions were designed based on interviews with network professionals and IT analysts. Results were compiled from the insights of 1,035 respondents, including network engineers, IT directors and CIOs around the world.
Hyperconvergence has been receiving a tremendous amount of attention because it represents the next step in the evolution of IT resource delivery. This technology takes the idea of integrating compute, storage and networking that started with converged systems design and has improved on those architectures by adding deeper levels of abstraction and automation. Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) vendors promise simplified operation and the ability to quickly and easily expand capacity by deploying and launching additional modules; simplicity has been the key selling point for the HCI pioneers.
As HCI ventures even deeper into the enterprise and cloud environments, the architectures will need to become more efficient, agile and adaptable to help IT professionals shoulder the burden of rapidly growing data sets and workloads. This report discusses the benefits of HCI and the enhancements that must be
made to expand HCI deeper into the mainstream enterprise datacenter.
