From Ebola preparedness to leading large-scale changes, today’s master’s degree programs are producing leaders eager to tackle this generation’s most pressing challenges.
Rahul Anand, MD, is chief epidemiologist at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut, where he heads up all infectious disease prevention activities for the nonprofit integrated delivery network, from Ebola preparedness to hand washing. He’s also adjunct assistant professor in the department of medicine at the University of Utah, where he worked full time prior to moving to the East Coast. On top of that, he is one-third of the way through an MBA program at the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management. It will take him another two years to finish the online program.
As enterprises become more distributed and migrate applications to the cloud, they will need to diversify
their network performance management solutions. In particular, the network operations team will need to
complement its packet-based monitoring tools with active test monitoring solutions to enhance visibility into
the cloud and help enterprises scale monitoring gracefully and cost-effectively.
Multinational companies (MNCs) are facing a unique combination of escalating customer, competitive and operational pressures which are forcing them to fundamentally change the way they do business and manage their IT infrastructures supporting network, security and mobility needs.
Lack of IT resources, limited capex and more complex global implementations are driving an increasing proportion of MNCs to offload, or 'out-task', various aspects of their day-to-day management responsibilities to skilled third-parties that can help perform these functions well.

This paper outlines the seven essential buying criteria that every decision-maker needs to consider when making a decision on a video delivery provider. These buying criteria are shared across the gamut of small, video-centric startups and established, familiar media giants.
Cisco has recently unveiled its new intent-based networking strategy, called "The Network. Intuitive." The goal of intent-based networking is to allow greater levels of automation, security integration, and centralized manageability within a software subscription orientation. Intent-based networking is underpinned by Software-Defined Access (SDA), Cisco's automation engine built upon the company's Digital Network Architecture (DNA), which automates network segmentation, policy enforcement, and troubleshooting. Other core components of the announcement include a refresh of Cisco Catalyst switches, a new licensing model for infrastructure, and an all-in-one management console called DNA Center.
Our evaluation found that, where Cisco and Huawei both offer all the comparable components for building a campus-wide, wireless and wired, network infrastructure, test after test found that the Cisco package offers certain positive advantages that Huawei does not. Cisco showcased superior performance against the Hauwei wireless solution with a highly developed resource management, hardware, software and security platform to provide the most optimized, trustworthy system to ever customer.

While flash storage can enhance the performance of your applications, there are three potential roadblocks to realizing the full value from a flash investment:
• Storage network capacity
• Storage architecture

This white paper shows how Microsoft and Cisco have come together and developed a best-of-breed private cloud ecosystem that combines Cisco’s compute and network expertise with Microsoft’s single operating system, data management, and virtualisation capabilities.
This Technology Spotlight examines the role of digital transformation in customer engagement and omni-channel retail. It also looks at the role of Cisco's enterprise networking solution portfolio, particularly Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX) and Intelligent WAN (IWAN), in the strategically important omni-channel retail market.
A discussion of wide area networking is extremely timely because after a long period with little if any fundamental innovation, the WAN is now the focus of considerable innovation. As a result, for the first time in a decade network organizations have an opportunity to make a significant upgrade to their WAN architecture.
WAN optimization increasingly resembles a mature market with increasing feature standardization. Vendor innovation is focused on supporting new application types and deployment options, with WAN optimization migrating toward more diverse platforms or to a WAN cloud.
As security continues to get more complex Cisco looks at a network visually for secuirty aspects and is not based upon classifications of boundary and segmentation. Putting the 'Network' back in Network Security is an implementation used through: Netflow, Fire & ISE, Beyond Access Control (SGT & TrustSec)
Service virtualization offers a solution. Service virtualization tools simulate software components so end-to-end testing can proceed even when dependent components are not available. That means teams can perform integration tests sooner and more often, accelerating the delivery of high-quality, thoroughly tested applications.

Adapting to changing market dynamics is not easy for any enterprise-class organization. To stay competitive, companies not only must adapt different go to market and customer service strategies but also embrace internal business process and workflow changes, which in many cases can be more difficult. Enter Intelligent Business Process Management Suites (iBPMS). According to Gartner, iBPMS compress the observation-to-action-to-outcome cycle, and help business transformation leaders, business process directors and solution architects establish a fluid capability to handle big change. Gartner evaluated 15 iBPMS vendors including Pegasystems.

Case management frameworks built on business process management platforms help IT solutions architects deploy case-handling applications and offer an alternative to specialized case management applications and custom coding. According to Gartner, the complex architecture required to support case management has relegated it to the status of a niche application, typically addressed by specialist, commercial off-the-shelf application providers and system integrators. Case management as a process style is being applied in many sectors beyond government, legal and insurance, including healthcare, banking, higher education and retail. Industry and cross-industry case management frameworks are now available. "Adaptive case management" hype exceeds the reality of what buyers need. Gartner evaluated 12 vendors including Pegasystems against nine critical capabilities in four use cases.
