To free up staff resources to focus on strategic business initiatives, many IT leaders are considering engaging a partner to handle ongoing data center maintenance and optimization. But, too often, data center management services fall short of expectations. Standard care services may be limited in scope, and may not support the range of legacy hardware already in the data center. Conversely, complex managed or outsourced services may involve a costly, fully-customized engagement, in which costs are unpredictable, and control is wrested away from the enterprise. Finally—and perhaps most importantly—many data center management service providers seem to lack the innovative spark that will ensure continuous improvement to data center operations.

Cloud computing is transforming IT in terms of how services are delivered, how infrastructure is deployed and managed, and how IT organizations structure themselves. For the purposes of this study, Forrester is defining a cloud solution as having three major characteristics: “self-service access, full automation of processes and policies, and metering and tracking of usage.”1 It then becomes a question of whether you manage your cloud(s) yourself, outsource it, or use a hybrid combination of private and public cloud resources.
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) serves as the clinical arm for research and treatment studies for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington Medicine, and Seattle Children’s. The organization’s outsourced IT service desk operated adequately, but a desire for financial savings, enriched customer relationships, and improved HIPAA compliance drove SCCA to seek out another solution.

Business owners and entrepreneurs create their businesses for a number of reasons: to grow an idea, build and inspire a team, make a difference.
And all too quickly, those business owners can face the other side of running a business: paying employees, negotiating the best benefits for your teams, keeping up with myriad government regulations.
Workplaces are getting even more complicated - for good reasons. Teams have more flexibility to work remotely. And the gig economy is exploding; in fact, about a third of the U.S. workforce works on something other than a full-time basis.
According to a McKinsey study, half of all outsourced projects failed to meet their expected goals – while an Information Week Survey showed that 40% of outsourced projects did not save money! Factors that contribute to these problems include issues with quality, time zone challenges, and added travel expenses, among others.
Managing payroll in-house can be challenging to maintain for growing businesses. Fortunately, you can free up a lot of time,
energy, and resources by letting a provider handle it. Find out why you should outsource with these top-5 reasons
In considering the four principal options of data center modernization, keep in mind that each option need not be treated as a separate and distinct approach. Data center stakeholders may want to combine options in order to better accommodate a particular migration timeline. Or cautious executives may want to simply dabble with the outsourcing option by piloting only a few select applications while still maintaining a core corporate data center. The key critical success factor is the recognition that data center modernization is not a one-time fi x, but rather a critical piece of an ongoing strategy to better service customers.
"Outsourcing" often gets a bad name. But when it comes to your recruitment function, partmering with an outside expert can successfully transform your approach to talent acquisition and deliver measurable business results faster.
Enterprises today face the major challenge of how to fully orchestrate the apps that define their business and automate the IT processes underpinning them when much of the infrastructure used to run them is outsourced to cloud providers.
Some cloud service providers offer their own orchestration tools, and each on-premises tool has automation capabilities. But while we own our apps, providers are interchangeable depending on what they can offer and for what price. We should be able to switch between cloud providers and between cloud, on-premises and hybrid infrastructure as and when the business requires, with minimal effort and without losing any control. Sometimes we might want to use more than one provider at the same time, leveraging the advantages of each provider simultaneously.
What is needed is an orchestration layer that remains constant while cloud services come and go; one that enterprises own along with their core apps.
As enterprise IT departments increasingly move toward multi-sourcing environments, it is more important than ever to measure ADM deliverables—not only to manage risks by ensuring overall structural quality of systems, but also to objectively evaluate vendors and make smarter sourcing decisions. This paper describes the eight steps for integrating Sofware Analysis & Measurement (SAM) in your outsourcing relationship lifecycle—from RFP preparation to contract development, team transition and benchmarking—to objectively evaluate the reliability, security, efficiency, maintainability, and size of software deliverables. This measurement can greatly improve the maturity in your outsourcing relationships to enhance performance and reduce risk.
Small and midsize businesses (SMBs) need – and want – cybersecurity. However, with limited resources, they often have to look for outsourced solutions. ISPs are well positioned to address SMBs’ security needs with their ongoing IT relationships, established contacts, and billing connections. Security offerings can help providers improve subscriber engagement, drive incremental revenues, and increase service provider affinity.
This white paper will explore the following:
• SMB exposure on the internet, and unique challenges they face dealing with security threats
• How ISPs can help SMBs address their security exposure
• The market opportunity for SMB security, and how providers can build a business case
