Given the potential for SOA to solve pressing business problems, it’s inevitable that most companies will begin adopting SOA constructs within the next year or two. As they move to SOA, the approach they choose will have both immediate and long-term effects on their ability to support and adjust their ecosystem to meet future business requirements.
The information overload on SOA is largely on describing its merits, its principles and the vast variety of products intended to address its needs. It could also be of interest to those who would like to know more about how the phenomenon of offshore/onsite coordination, that emerged in the nineties, can be effectively applied towards realizing the promise of SOA.

This resulted in user identity ending at the Web Application Server, forcing the Web Services Provider to trust blindly that the Web Services Requester had established identity and trust with the end user.

Since it first emerged more than a decade ago, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) has been both widely praised as a modern and agile approach to software development and infrastructure architecture and dismissed as a colossal waste of time and money. Missed expectations for many SOA projects led one analyst in 2009 to declare, “SOA is dead.” Far from being dead, however, service oriented architecture is in fact more relevant than ever
