Welcome to KPMG’s third annual report tracking developments in China’s pension industry. This is a topic of great economic significance. As the world’s most populous country, China has an ageing society and is developing the infrastructure to take care of a growing number of elderly people. The topic also has business significance, especially for financial companies able to find opportunities in the fast-growing pension sector.
This report updates and builds on our findings from last year. That report identified sector convergence as one of the most distinct features of the Chinese pension industry, as well as highlighted several strategic themes that will influence its long-term development. In the pages that follow, we explain the most recent developments and their strategic implications.
"This Ovum white paper is sponsored by Juniper Networks. It reveals that organisations need to update and upgrade their cybersecurity postures to defend themselves against today's threats.
More than 80% of organisations in Asia are not protected against today's threats. Many of them depend on security investments made years ago, which cannot defend against new and emerging threats. The arrival of new technologies including cloud computing, the Internet of Things, mobility, bring your own device (BYOD), and social media have massively increased attack surfaces and expanded the threat landscape.
Over the past two years, there has been a global infestation of ransomware attacks, which have wrought destruction across a growing number of businesses. Crypto-jacking, attacks on critical infrastructure, and data exfiltration are now commonly affecting businesses and consumers alike. The financial impact of these attacks is increasing rapidly and has already cost some organisations hundreds o

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently issued a new rule, effective September 2013, which updates OSHA’s 1971 workplace safety sign and tag formats with today’s best practice safety signage designs as defined by the latest American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z535 standards.
The OSHA signage change means that, over time, as employers adopt the newer ANSI Z535 best practice safety tag and sign formats, the United States will increasingly have a single, national uniform system of hazard recognition. Safety signs installed in facilities and public
areas, temporary safety tags placed on equipment, and safety labels placed on products will all be designed using the same formatting principles.
The outcome of such consistency is expected to be significantly more effective communication in the workplace. That, in turn, should help achieve the objective of fewer accidents and more lives saved from tragedy.
Graphic Products is pleased to bring you the Second Edition of the “Practical Solution Guide to Arc Flash Hazards” produced by EasyPower, LLC. This edition has been fully updated to reflect the most recent changes in standards and practices. The guide was designed to walk you through the necessary steps of implementing an arc flash assessment as part of your overall safety program requirements. It will help you and your team make important decisions concerning the safety of your employees an help manage the complex tasks of OSHA and NFPA 70E compliance for arc flash hazards.
Using customer location data to drive foot traffic and sales is a given for today’s smart marketers. But digital data alone isn’t enough to design and execute optimal campaigns.
The future of location-based marketing incorporates new technology that provides a data stream of polygons - granular information on the size and shape of buildings - that identifies precisely where customers are when shown relevant offers, and helps track whether those offers convert to sales.
This Industry Dive eBook endorsing HERE Technologies explains how to leverage such new, powerful and precise matrices to measure campaign efficacy and success. It also includes:
• An explanation of how new granular audience and footfall data can provide impactful attribution insights
• A specific list of value adds a proprietary polygon database partner can provide
• A case study of a company that used continually-updated polygon data to boost their segmentation, behavior analytics and attribution capabilities.
While the shift from disk to digital offers tremendous potential opportunities, it also presents a host
of new challenges for gaming companies. As the online channel grows increasingly complex and the pace
of innovation accelerates, many companies struggle to keep up. Not only are there websites and storefronts
to manage, but also real-time gaming servers, large software downloads, and live-streamed competitions and
events. Games are transforming from fixed, boxed products to dynamic, ongoing services – with frequently
updated content, in-game micro-transactions, virtual goods and social interactions. Mobile adds another
dimension to the trend, as consumers increasingly look to play on smart phones and tablets – or on multiple
screens across devices.
To successfully navigate this complex and changing landscape, gaming companies need an agile,
high- performance infrastructure that allows them to turn the Internet into a reliable and effective
online distribution channel. This requires f
Today’s leading-edge organizations differentiate themselves through analytics to further their competitive advantage by extracting value from all their data sources. Other companies are looking to become data-driven through the modernization of their data management deployments. These strategies do include challenges, such as the management of large growing volumes of data. Today’s digital world is already creating data at an explosive rate, and the next wave is on the horizon, driven by the emergence of IoT data sources. The physical data warehouses of the past were great for collecting data from across the enterprise for analysis, but the storage and compute resources needed to support them are not able to keep pace with the explosive growth. In addition, the manual cumbersome task of patch, update, upgrade poses risks to data due to human errors. To reduce risks, costs, complexity, and time to value, many organizations are taking their data warehouses to the cloud. Whether hosted lo

Most organizations have invested, and continue to invest, in people, processes, technology, and policies to meet customer privacy requirements and avoid significant fines and other penalties. In addition, data breaches continue to expose the personal information of millions of people, and organizations are concerned about the products they buy, services they use, people they employ, and with whom they partner and do business with generally. As a result, customers are asking more questions during the buying cycle about how their data is captured, used, transferred, shared, stored, and destroyed. In last year’s study (Cisco 2018 Privacy Maturity Benchmark Study), Cisco introduced data and insights regarding how these privacy concerns were negatively impacting the buying cycle and timelines. This year’s research updates those findings and explores the benefits associated with privacy investment.

More than ever, businesses are considering a cloud solution for their enterprise resource planning (ERP) deployment over an on-premises system. Cloud technology appeals to these companies because updates and fixes occur automatically with little or no effort from internal IT staff, and because cloud-based solutions provide access to real-time data from anywhere. Employees want tools that make it easier for them to complete everyday tasks and make informed decisions that help the business grow.
Aberdeen’s research report, “Top Performers Know It’s Time to Migrate to Cloud ERP: Here’s Why and How,” uncovers the reasons successful companies are choosing cloud over on-premises ERP models. Download this SmartBite for a quick look at the report’s highlights.

Testing is often a major pain point for enterprises when taking new products to market, and can make or break customer loyalty. Testing speed impacts how fast the product can be rolled out to markets, with regular updates, while the quality of testing can determine the product’s success.
So how can product testing be done better, faster, and in a more agile manner? A global CPG giant was looking to solve the same problem when it wanted to take its customer loyalty app to 18 countries. See how Infosys helped and the five key takeaways from the project.

Code updates happen for one main reason:
safety improvement. NEC (National Electrical
Code) Article 408.3 helps take electrical safety
for service entrance panels to a new level.
The code, updated in 2017, includes provisions to provide shock
protection via panelboard barriers. The barriers protect from energized
conductors on the line terminals of the main overcurrent protection
device (OCPD) in a panelboard. When the main circuit breaker in
a panel is turned off, line side terminals and conductors remain
energized from upstream via the utility or another panelboard. With
these barriers in place and the main OCPD turned off, installers are
better protected when pulling wires into the panelboard. Today, all
panelboards are shipped with shock-protective barriers. However,
barriers are new to installation procedures, so contractors may not
recognize them and accidentally throw them out—easily and often.
The annual performance review is in need of a technology-based update. In this global research study, learn how to transform the performance management process from an annual chore to a continuous value driver that better engages and retains employees.

AlchemyAPI’s approach to natural language processing incorporates both linguistic and statistical analysis techniques into a single unified system. This hybrid approach provides an industry-leading advantage since both techniques have benefits and drawbacks depending on the content and specific usecases. Linguistic analysis takes a basic grammatical approach to understand how words combine into phrases, and how those phrases combine into sentences. While this approach works well with editorialized text (e.g., news articles and press releases), it does not perform as well when it comes to usergenerated content, often filled with slang, misspellings and idioms. Statistical analysis, however, understands language from a mathematical standpoint and works well on “noisy” content (e.g., tweets, blog posts, and Facebook status updates). The combination of these two approaches allows for increased accuracy on a variety of content.

High-profile data breaches continue to make headlines as organizations struggle to manage information security in the face of rapidly changing applications, data centers, and the cloud. Against this backdrop, data masking has emerged as one of the most effective ways to protect sensitive test data from insider and outsider threats alike.
While masking is now the de facto standard for protecting non-production data, implementing it alongside virtual data technologies has elevated its effectiveness even further.
