GDPR compliance can be achieved through a combination of people, processes and technology. This document has described solutions that can help organizations with their GDPR journey. But you can extend that protection and strengthen security controls even further via strong and risk authentication or workload automation for the processing automation of personal data helping you comply with GDPR as well as similar mandates. Regulations tend to set the minimum standards to be required, but in the application economy, open enterprises must ensure due diligence to protect one of the most important and critical assets: private customer information.
Cloud migration has exploded in popularity since General Electric’s (GE’s) flashy keynote at Amazon Web Service’s (AWS’s) re:Invent in September 2015. GE claims to be migrating all workloads not containing secret information. Enterprises are revisiting public cloud and exploring whether existing or systems-of-record applications have a place in that world. Infrastructure and operations (I&O) professionals on this path should avoid a one-size-fits-all approach to outsourcing and migration plans, opting instead for an app-by-app assessment.

Effectively using and managing information has become critical to driving growth in areas such as pursuing new business opportunities, attracting and retaining customers, and streamlining operations. In the era of big data, you must accommodate a rapidly increasing volume, variety and velocity of data while extracting actionable business insight from that data, faster than ever before.
These needs create a daunting array of workload challenges and place tremendous demands on your underlying IT infrastructure and database systems. This e-book presents six reasons why you should consider a database change, including opinions from industry analysts and real-world customer experiences. Read on to learn more.
For increasing numbers of organizations, the new reality for development, deployment and delivery of applications and services is hybrid cloud. Few, if any, organizations are going to move all their strategic workloads to the cloud, but virtually every enterprise is embracing cloud for a wide variety of requirements.
To accelerate innovation, improve the IT delivery economic model and reduce risk, organizations need to combine data and experience in a cognitive model that yields deeper and more meaningful insights for smarter decisionmaking. Whether the user needs a data set maintained in house for customer analytics or access to a cloud-based data store for assessing marketing program results — or any other business need — a high-performance, highly available, mixed-load database platform is required.

The hybrid cloud has been heralded as a promising IT operational model enabling enterprises to maintain security and control over the infrastructure on which their applications run. At the same time, it promises to maximize ROI from their local data center and leverage public cloud infrastructure for an occasional demand spike.
Public clouds are relatively new in the IT landscape and their adoption has accelerated over the last few years with multiple vendors now offering solutions as well as improved on-ramps for workloads to ease the adoption of a hybrid cloud model.
With these advances and the ability to choose between a local data center and multiple public cloud offerings, one fundamental question must still be answered: What, when and where to run workloads to assure performance while maximizing efficiency?
In this whitepaper, we explore some of the players in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and hybrid cloud, the challenges surrounding effective implementation, and how t

As enterprises undergo digital transformation, storage infrastructure modernization is a key focus. With new storage technologies and architectures available, CIOs have more opportunity than ever to match storage platforms with workload requirements and consolidate workloads where appropriate. This white paper focuses on evolving storage requirements in the midrange market, as enterprises look to improve efficiencies in how they handle enterprise workloads. It also discusses key midrange enterprise storage capabilities CIOs should consider as they modernize infrastructure.
It is now apparent that three specific technology advancements—non-volatile memory express (NVMe), NVMe over fabrics (NVMe-oF), and storage-class memory (SCM)—are transformative and will end up guiding the future of high-end data storage. Each of those technologies reduce I/O latency significantly.
However, organizations working to transform their data centers shouldn’t regard performance as the only end goal. Great performance is important because it increases an array’s ability to handle any workload intelligently, scale to meet unpredictable demand, and operate cost efficiently. The Dell EMC PowerMax powered by Intel® Xeon® processor is an impressive example of this type of modern storage architecture. It has been designed deliberately to maximize the speed of NVMe and by extension, offer transformational efficiency benefits and business value.
Today, financial service companies are embracing hybrid cloud and its advantages, such as the ease of shifting production workloads and secure applications to public cloud environments. But, what is challenging is the complex regulatory landscape. 20,000 new regulatory requirements were created in 2016 alone. How can security pros ensure that controls for identity management, authentication and encryption work in both private and public clouds? Download this report for a closer look at the complexity of hybrid cloud security and 10 essential elements for compliant business operation.

Noble Group needed to revamp its IT approach to support its technology and global business, which had in-house apps spread across 1,000 different servers around the world. Having worked with Rackspace previously, it had confidence in Rackspace’s expertise in IT transformation, and decided to take up its managed public cloud services for Microsoft Azure, and professional services for cloud migration, performance and scalability. Yet, this resulted in greater gained cost-savings and increased agility, as Noble moved its massive workloads to the Azure cloud with round-the-clock expertise from Rackspace.
This proved to be a wise choice. To adapt to Noble Group’s fast changing business model, Rackspace needed to migrate 60 percent of its resources from on-premises infrastructure to Azure, following eight months of planning. At the end of the cloud migration, Noble Group successfully reduced the 2,000 servers from its infrastructure to just 200 servers.

As more workloads are shifting to the cloud, cybersecurity professionals remain concerned about security of data, systems, and services in the cloud. To cope with new security challenges, security teams are forced to reassess their security posture and strategies as traditional security tools are often not suited for the challenges of dynamic, virtual and distributed cloud environments. This technology challenge is only exacerbated by the dramatic shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals.
