In part two of the Unified Data Protection for a Hybrid IT World webinar series, we take a deeper dive into use cases around the challenges that businesses are facing today and how Forcepoint’s solutions meet your data protection needs. Understanding the location of all data, whether at-rest, in-use, or in motion across on-premises and the cloud is essential to keep data safe and secure. This enables companies to identify their riskiest users and behaviors. With Forcepoint, you can automate the identification, classification, and protection of critical data. This webinar explores how companies should rethink data security. Protecting critical data and intellectual property requires a risk-adaptive, dynamic approach, including these three main components. Analytics-Driven Visibility – to gain oversight everywhere users work and collaborate Risk-Adaptive Controls – to eliminate the complexity of policy enforcement Intelligent & Dynamic Automation – to build a better understanding of c

Data is multiplying rapidly in quantity and variety for enterprises of all kinds. In multicloud environments, a range of data sources is exponentially increasing the stream of incoming information, from the Internet of Things and social media, to mobile devices, virtual reality implementations and optical tracking. While organizations are readily investing in artificial intelligence (AI), most haven’t done due diligence to understand their data or ensure the quality of data needed to benefit from AI solutions. In many organizations, their data is inaccessible, unreliable, or non-compliant with data privacy and protection rules.

Co-presented by Dataguise and Amazon Web Services (AWS), this webinar looks at ways this highly regulated industry uses cloud-based technology to manage data governance and data privacy compliance across multiple services within AWS, including S3, RDS, Aurora, and Redshift. This is especially important given new data privacy laws set forth by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) of 2018. You’ll learn specific steps to take toward successful data privacy compliance.

As organizations continue to look for ways to increase business agility, a need for a modern database architecture that can rapidly respond to the needs of business is more apparent than ever. While an RDBMS still serves as a lifeline for many organizations, the adoption of technologies such as NoSQL and Hadoop are enabling organizations to best address database performance and scalability requirements while also satisfying the goals of embracing hybrid cloud and becoming more data-driven. And with organizations relying so heavily on these new technologies to yield rapid insights that positively impact the business, the need to evaluate how those new technologies are managed and protected is essential. Hadoop and NoSQL workloads are now pervasive in production environments and require “production-class” data protection, yet few data protection solutions offer such capabilities today.

Things are not as they used to be in the enterprise. Today’s employees are mobile, they’re storing and accessing data in cloud apps, and are in disparate networks. While the present-day digital world has changed, the objective of data protection has not: you must still ensure the security of your critical data and intellectual property without impacting an employee’s ability to do their job. The key is to gain visibility into user interactions with data and applications. Once this is achieved, you can apply a level of control based on the specific user’s risk and the sensitivity or value of the data. An organization’s data protection program must consider the human point — the intersection of users, data and networks. Enterprises must remain vigilant of data as it moves across hybrid environments and highlight the users who create, touch and move data who may pose the greatest risk to an organization.

In today’s average large enterprise, more than 1,000 cloud applications may be in use—whether sanctioned or unsanctioned by IT. But traditional security technologies can’t adequately address the inevitable security and compliance challenges that follow. The Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) is an emerging security technology that specifically addresses the data protection challenges and other associated threats that come with the cloud. Based on results from an in-depth survey of decisions makers and influencers with CASB deployment experience, this Osterman Research whitepaper: Analyzes the core drivers behind CASB adoptions Provides guidance in how to demonstrate need for CASB technology in a particular organization Identifies features and functionality to consider when evaluating CASB solutions
