The What, Why and How to Employ NAC to Apply Guest Networking, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and Endpoint Security Policies.
Many of today's endpoints are neither known nor protected. According to Gartner, enterprises are only aware of 80 percent of the devices on their network. Those 20 percent of unknown devices are inside the perimeter of the network, are unmanaged and provide users with access. They are small, varied and highly mobile, and they are loaded with their own applications, can act as WAPs, and often contain outdated firmware or are jailbroken. Even as the devices are accessing personal applications on the web, they are also accessing corporate resources such as e-mail-all from the very same unmanaged devices, which have not been vetted by the security organization. Smartphones, notebooks, netbooks, iPads, e-readers, gaming consoles and more-the list of personal devices attempting access to employer networks seems to grow every day in what's come to be known as the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) era in networking.

"Getting employees to understand and take advantage of benefits during open enrollment periods is big challenge for many HR managers. This paper looks for new ideas on communicating benefit plans from professional marketers, knowledge management experts, and social media gurus."
E-mail is the primary communication tool upon which every business and corporation depends. This communication source is also the battleground where cybercriminals use sophisticated email infiltration-techniques to propagate malware and attack corporate networks.
Financial Services firms are moving into a new phase in the evolution of communications oversight and face challenges ranging from new and changing regulations to employee privacy. Learn how legal, compliance and IT professionals are managing compliance and e-discovery for email, Web, IM, social media, enterprise social networks, corporate issued mobile devices and the bring your own device (BYOD) trend.
The impact of information is changing and while this change provides great opportunities, it also presents greater risks. Traditional monitoring processes and technology advancements alone no longer deliver effective identification, management, and prevention of business risks, instead the changing impact of information demands early detection and root cause analysis. Learn how leading companies are magnifying exploitation of information security risks, along with advancing identification and protection of compliance risks.
Ninety-nine percent of the enterprise workforce currently uses mobile devices – smart phones and tablets – to perform their jobs today. Nearly 60 percent of security leaders describe their organizations as either partially or fully mobile, deriving enhanced productivity and other business benefits.
Reflecting on the survey results provides the opportunity to take a broad view of enterprise mobility and realize how business transformation has begun. Nearly all enterprises now incorporate mobility in their work, and a majority now sees tangible business results from mobility. Organizations are seeing greater efficiencies and productivity from mobile workers.
2016: The year in crisis provides The Economist Intelligence Unit’s assessment of sources of corporate risk in the year 2016, its evolution over the next three years, and a perspective on the role of the board of directors in managing crises.
Talent is an increasingly critical differentiator of corporate performance and poses one of the most significant barriers to growth. CEB research finds that boards at top-performing companies are twice as likely to have a deep understanding of talent issues as boards at lower-performing competitors. However, most boards lack sufficient understanding of key talent issues facing the companies they oversee, particularly because the data and analysis they receive provide limited insight. This whitepaper outlines the critical talent conversations every board should have and shows how industry leaders are broadening their understanding of talent issues and assurance about critical talent risks by expanding the perimeter of talent issues they monitor beyond executive leadership and reshaping conversations on executive performance evaluation and succession.
New research from IBM found that one-third of employees surveyed at Fortune 1000 companies are sharing and uploading corporate data on third-party cloud apps. Why? They’re tired of workplace apps that don’t perform like their personal apps: intuitively, on the go, and with some intelligence.
Saying “yes” might feel good to your teams, but it can also turn your infrastructure into a Beast. You don’t know all the different apps being used, like file sharing or online meetings. Or how much they cost. Or if your content is safe and manageable. Can you give your teams what they want without getting trampled by the Beast?
Yes you can. You can transform the Beast into a Beauty. But you need to consider three critical ways to make that happen.
Today’s security appliances and agents must wait until malware reaches the perimeter or endpoint before they can detect or prevent it. OpenDNS arrests attacks earlier in the kill chain. Enforcing security at the DNS layer prevents a malicious IP connection from ever being established or a malicious file from ever being downloaded. This same DNS layer of network security can contain malware and any compromised system from exfiltrating data. Command & control (C2) callbacks to the attacker’s botnet infrastructure are blocked over any port or protocol. Unlike appliances, the cloud service protects devices both on and off the corporate network. Unlike agents, the DNS layer protects every device connected to the network — even IoT. It is the easiest and fastest layer of security to deploy everywhere.
This paper draws on a wealth of experience, external research, and Virgin Pulse's robust analysis of client data to outline the key factors within your organization that can drive your employees to enroll in, and stay engaged with, your workplace wellness programs.
Despite heavy, long-term investments in data management, data problems at many organizations continue to grow. One reason is that data has traditionally been perceived as just one aspect of a technology project; it has not been treated as a corporate asset. Consequently, the belief was that traditional application and database planning efforts were sufficient to address ongoing data issues.
Today’s globally distributed and diverse workforce needs flexible yet straightforward access to the corporate network, regardless of user location, device type, employee affiliation, and application location (on-premises, SaaS, IaaS). Expedience and fluidity can’t come at the cost of security, especially given the realities of modern cybercrime. Learn more about the five demands you should make of an updated comprehensive application access solution.
Most tax departments spend 80 percent of their time collecting and manually inputting data and 20 percent reviewing it. Using tax technology, you can flip those proportions and transform how you gather, use, store and reuse data across your global tax processes.
This step-by-step guide discusses how technology can convert each challenge in your tax lifecycle to an opportunity for your success. Download today!
